Through helplines, support groups, and online resources, they offer guidance to caregivers and those living with dementia. The charity also invests in research to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention methods, working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. Additionally, the Alzheimer’s Society campaigns for improved healthcare services and societal understanding, aiming to create a more inclusive environment for everyone impacted by dementia.
Parkinson's UK
Parkinson's UK is a UK charity that supports Parkinson's research and those affected by the disease. It's the largest charity funder of Parkinson's research in the UK, funding research for better treatments and understanding of the condition. The charity raises funds through donations, legacies, fundraising, and partnerships. It also provides support and information to Parkinson's patients, their families, and caregivers through a network of local groups across the UK.
The Care Workers' Charity
The CWC offers one-off crisis grants to care workers in the UK to improve their financial, professional and mental well-being. The CWC has given over £5.7m in grants to more than 10,000 care workers in need since 2020. They offer crisis grants to care workers who have had an unexpected or life-changing event. They launched the Covid-19 Emergency Fund in March 2020 to help care workers affected by the pandemic, and have introduced the Mental Health Support Programme to offer free treatment with qualified therapists.
